Personality
Kahoru Kana is a quiet, calculating and social young woman. when on a mission Kana is less social and more attentive, patient, cautious logical and strategic gaining her title assistant head captain. out of her positive traits she is a very short tempered (gained from her aunt) empathetic, and stubborn, kana is also superstitious when around people she doesn't know she's very possessive and cold of her close ones i.e. Maiko Shuzen the head captain of the Kirigakure hunter-nin who she felt a deep admiration for but was very possessive of when she was met with Kagura Mashita.

Background
Kahoru Ai Kana was born in Kirigakure, Kahoru's parents left when she was only a child, Kahoru lived with her uncle and aunt and her pet cat kiro. Growing up for kahoru in Kirigakure was complicated, since she was so small and looks fragile she was also extremely lightweight. As a child she was often pushed around and bullied during her days in the Ninja Academy, she trained daily to move up to the top of her class graduating at only 7 years old  pushing herself further only to graduate to chunin at 9 and becoming a jounin only two years later. Kahoru was the recruited into the Hunter-nin at age 12 for her noticeable skill and agility. Kahoru was oftenly underestimated being such a small person most would take her for a weakling. Kahoru built a hard exterior and always kept quiet and let her actions do the talking, when she was picked on by bigger or older colleges she'd challenge them to a sparring match showing them her abilities with hand to hand combat, she would later end up gaining high respect from her fellow hunter-nin and also would later befriend Maiko Shuzen. As the two grew up together in the corps, Maiko and Kahoru were promoted to head captain and assisting head captain around the same time; Kana being promoted to assisting head captain under Maiko which he was promoted to head captain. 

Part II
 Years past and Kahoru and maiko's high reputations and experience out on the field, would be among the first to be contacted when needed for undercover dirty missions dealing with the politics around Kirigakure and other nations. Kahoru had a specific line of skills that allowed her to get into most situations effortlessly and allow her to terminate the target. Kana had grew a love for Maiko yet she kept to herself due to the type of career path she worked in and her constant need to keep herself focused and her squad in line.
When Kahoru first met Kagura Mashita she was distant and cold seeing her closest friend and secret love interest Maiko highly interested in Kagura as a student. While in battle was injured and nearly killed, Kagura acted swiftly saving kana's life. After this moment Kahoru would ultimately acknowledge Kagura as a formidable member of her squad. 
when Kahoru heard word that Kagura mashita was to be eliminated she was hesitant and attempted to rationalize with head capt. And friend Maiko only to be reminded of her place. In battle with Kagura she threw the battle by forcing Kagura's kunai into her chest. Allowing Kagura to escape. When squad found her they took her to medical help immediately then was given a medical leave until she was nursed back to health. 

Fourth Shinobi World War
Koharu would sacrifice her life for the sake of a group of her comrades in the fourth ninja war when the Madara unleashed the Gedo statue when the statue erupted causing debris to fall everywhere she used the last of her chakra to create her water style water whip jutsu to destroy a rock that was going to crush her fellow squad members knowing she had little chakra left to protect herself from the falling boulders, she was crushed by falling debris.
